ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS

Most patients will be seen within 2-3 business days.

Southwest Pulmonary Associates has provided expert evaluation and treatment of pulmonary diseases since 1982. We are pleased to announce that nine of our physicians made D Magazine's 2023 "Best Docs" list.

Our board-certified physicians can perform comprehensive evaluations with state-of-the-art pulmonary function testing. We diagnose and treat all pulmonary disorders, including COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis, cough, dyspnea, and lung nodules.

We have board-certified sleep physicians that diagnose and treat sleep apnea, offering home sleep testing to accommodate our patients' busy lives.

We perform advanced bronchoscopy including the ION robotic bronchoscope and endobronchial ultra-sound, enabling us to diagnosis lung nodules less than 1 cm. This enables us to diagnose lung cancer at earlier stages and improve survival.

Notice: Our Dallas location is temporarily closed due to a flood in the building. However, we have made arrangements to see our patients in POB 3, Ste. 600 until operations return to normal.

We are not able to screen or test patients for COVID-19.

If you are concerned, please call your local health department or the THR Hotline in the forms provided in the following buttons.

Mission, Vision & Values

The physicians and staff of Southwest Pulmonary Associates thank you for your interest in our practice. Our services include prevention, treatment and care of pulmonary diseases and sleep related breathing disorders. We strive to provide the most advanced pulmonary and critical care services and to compassionately meet the needs of our patients.

What We Are

Since 1982, Southwest Pulmonary has grown into a 39-provider group of board certified pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine specialists. Our physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners have privileges at major hospitals in the greater Dallas area.

Conditions We Treat

Asthma

Asthma, cough, chronic cough, and shortness of breath affect nearly 26 million people in the U.S. alone. This chronic disease causes difficulty in breathing due to inflammation of air passages that carry oxygen to the lungs. Symptoms can include wheezing, coughing, and chest tightness.

Sleep

Good sleep is important for our every day health and well-being. But there are a number of sleep disorders that can affect us. Sleep apnea, insomnia and restless legs syndrome are just a few examples.

Critical Care

We manage the critical care services and pulmonary departments at numerous facilities and provide exclusive coverage 24 hours/day, 7 days/week in intensive and critical care units of Dallas, Plano and Allen, managing every ICU patient in 2 of the 4 hospitals we staff.

COPD

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease encompasses both chronic bronchitis and also emphysema. Symptoms include shortness of breath and persistent cough. There are 4 stages of this disease that can be treated with medications or changes in lifestyle.

Lung Masses/Nodules

A lung mass is defined as an abnormal spot in the lungs that is more than 3 cm in size. If a spot is less than 3 cm in diameter, it is referred to as a lung nodule.

Interstitial Disease

Interstitial lung disease covers a range of lung diseases. However in each and every one of them the disease causes a thickening of what is referred to as the interstitium in the lungs. Some forms of this disease are chronic, while others are short lived.

We're proud of our physicians for being named in D Magazine's 2023 Best Doctors or Pediatric Specialists list!
